The rapid expansion of synthetic biology demands standardized, extensible file formats for exchanging gene‑circuit designs across software tools and laboratories. We present , a plain‑text, printer‑friendly (PRN) format that encodes circuit topology, component specifications, and simulation parameters in a human‑readable layout. sxy.prN combines the simplicity of INI‑style key/value pairs with a concise graph‑description syntax, enabling both manual editing and automated parsing. We describe the grammar, provide a reference implementation in Python, and demonstrate interoperability with three widely used design tools (SBOLDesigner, iBioSim, and Geneious). Benchmarking on a library of 1 000 synthetic circuits shows a 30 % reduction in file size and nearly 100 % parsing success rate compared with SBOL XML. sxy.prn is released under an MIT license and is available at https://github.com/sxyprn/sxyprn‑spec. provide a reference implementation in Python
