Released in 2006, Borat was a mockumentary unlike any other. Directed by Larry Charles, the film follows Borat Sagdiyev (Sacha Baron Cohen), a fictional Kazakh journalist, as he travels across the United States to film a documentary. According to the film's official subtitle, the goal was "Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan."

The vast majority of Borat’s "Kazakh" dialogue is actually Hebrew. Baron Cohen frequently drops conversational Hebrew, Hebrew slang, and Jewish cultural idioms throughout the film. Released in 2006, Borat was a mockumentary unlike any other
