On some older versions of Windows (Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 and earlier), xperf required the DisablePagingExecutive registry key to be set to 1 in order to obtain complete 64‑bit call stacks. This key prevents the kernel from paging driver code and system code to disk, ensuring that xperf’s stack walking code can always access the metadata it needs.
