The engine was optimized to satisfy many queries directly from indexes and to stream data efficiently between client files. The release also introduced support for .NET 3.5 (including ADO.NET 3.5, Entity Framework, and LINQ), PHP, Perl, Python, and .NET stored procedures, as well as integration with Visual Studio 2008.
