One of the biggest complaints from fans was that The Ones Who Live was too isolated. Its main characters interacted almost exclusively with the CRM, leaving out beloved characters like Daryl Dixon, Carol, Maggie, and Negan. A second season could tackle the long-awaited reunion of Rick and Daryl, a moment that has been teased for years as a perfect capstone to the entire franchise. It could also explore Rick's reaction to his best friend Morgan's departure or Michonne's reunion with her old allies.
Even without "The Ones Who Live" Season 2, the Grimes family storyline is not necessarily over. Scott Gimple has stated that the story "isn't over yet", and AMC seems to be concluding many of its flagship spin-offs while leaving the door open for future projects.
