At the time of its release, Ice Age 3 was a colossal box office success. Produced on a budget of $90 million, it earned a staggering $886.6 million worldwide, becoming one of the highest-grossing animated films of its era. The film's performance was particularly dominant overseas. It shattered records by achieving the best international opening ever for an animated film, grossing $151.7 million in its first weekend abroad. This success was partly attributed to the growing popularity of 3D cinema, which boosted ticket prices and drew audiences to theaters.
