His first major public exploit came in 2022. During the infamous festival in the Riocentro, Rio de Janeiro—a massive two-day music event featuring the band Lagum—Kriok reportedly hacked the venue's paid Wi-Fi network. Instead of stealing credit cards, he redirected all the traffic to a static page that read: "Free the Web. - GK." Attendees were baffled; the festival organizers were furious. It was a minor act of digital graffiti, but it put the name "Gael Kriok" on the radar of the National Cybersecurity Brigade.
