Logic Platinum Digital Compressor
Next to the Make-up gain knob is an "Auto" button. This automatically compensates for volume loss caused by compression.
Many sidechain compressors produce a "click" at the attack transient. Because the Platinum Digital can use RMS detection (slider at 100%), it smooths the sidechain trigger. Route your kick to trigger compression on your bass. Set Attack: 5ms (slower), Release: 50ms (release before the next kick). The result is a rubbery, pump-free sidechain perfect for deep house. logic platinum digital compressor
Most analog compressors (and other Logic circuit types) use either peak or RMS detection internally, fixed by their design. The Platinum Digital gives you the freedom to choose — a powerful advantage when you need to fine‑tune how the compressor interacts with your source material. Next to the Make-up gain knob is an "Auto" button
The digital engine will cleanly "shave off" the loudest peak transients (like sudden yelled words or plosives) without anyone noticing. You can then follow it with an analog emulation (like the Studio VCA or Vintage Opto) to add warmth and general leveling. 2. Sidechain Ducking (The Kick and Bass Relationship) Because the Platinum Digital can use RMS detection
Switch to Peak mode for the most accurate reaction to a kick drum trigger.
Switch the detection mode to so it reacts to the average energy rather than string-slap peaks. Set the Ratio to 3:1.
